Stewart Valley’s history

Stewart Valley sits on Highway 4, just south of the South Saskatchewan River where it meets Highway 738, about 35 kilometres north of Swift Current. It lies along the remains of the historic Swift Current–Battleford Trail.

The community incorporated as a village on January 1, 1958. On July 1, 2023, it dissolved as a village and became a special service area within the Rural Municipality of Saskatchewan Landing No. 167.

In late August of 2022, lightning struck the school and community centre, and the building burned down. Stewart Valley is also the home town connection of Travis Moen, who went on to play ice hockey in the National Hockey League.
